Bonded Sealing Washers combine a shallow-formed stainless steel backing with a permanently bonded EPDM layer. The metal distributes fastener load while controlled EPDM compression creates conforming sealing contact around the fastening point.
Product Overview
The stainless backing washer provides bearing area, load distribution and support for the black EPDM sealing layer bonded beneath it. The primary VALTOR configuration is 304 or 316 stainless steel with EPDM—not PVC or a loose rubber ring.
As the fastener tightens, the shallow-formed metal face distributes load and EPDM conforms to the panel. Under-compression can leave inadequate contact; over-compression can cause extrusion or long-term damage. Correct installation creates controlled contact without a universal torque claim.
Specify fastener diameter, washer ID and OD, metal thickness, EPDM thickness, stainless grade, washer profile, application, quantity and drawing/sample. Washer geometry must match the screw head, panel surface and required bearing area.
