Button Head Pin Torx Security Screws

Tamper-Resistant 6-Lobe Machine Screws with Center Security Pin

Button Head Pin Torx Security Screws use a low rounded head with a tamper-resistant six-lobe recess and central security pin. The pin blocks ordinary solid-tip drivers, while a compatible security bit with a center hole enables authorized installation and maintenance.

Product Overview

This specific security fastener combines a broad low-domed Button Head, an internal six-lobe recess, a concentric raised center pin and a conventional machine-threaded shank. Without the center pin, the drive is an ordinary six-lobe recess rather than the product defined on this page.

The center pin prevents a normal solid-tip driver from seating fully. A matched six-lobe security bit with a center bore fits over the pin and engages the lobes, discouraging unauthorized removal with standard tools while allowing authorized service.

Buyers should specify thread diameter, pitch and length, head dimensions, security-recess size, center-pin geometry, material, finish, mating thread, matched-bit requirement, quantity and any drawing or sample.

Security Recess, Center Pin & Driver Matching

Security Structure
Low Button Head → six-lobe security recess → concentric center pin. The center pin distinguishes this product from a standard six-lobe screw.
Normal vs Security Driver
A solid-center standard bit contacts the pin and cannot fully seat; a security bit has a center bore that passes over the pin for full lobe engagement.
Center-Pin Geometry
Diameter, height, concentricity and formation must discourage standard-tool engagement without interfering with the correct matched bit.
Recess Geometry
Lobe form, symmetry, depth and concentricity are controlled for stable engagement with the selected driver.
Driver Size
Selected according to screw diameter, head size, product drawing and installation requirement; no universal M-size-to-T-size mapping is claimed.
Installation
Use the confirmed security bit with center hole. Modified or damaged ordinary bits may damage the pin, lobes or head.
Authorized Removal
Correct security tooling supports service-panel and equipment-cover removal for authorized maintenance.
Tamper-Resistant Positioning
Designed to discourage removal using ordinary tools; it is not described as universally tamper proof or impossible to remove.

Material, Size & Finish Options

1304 / A2 Stainless Steel — Primary corrosion-resistant option for equipment, enclosures, machinery covers, public fixtures and stainless assemblies.
2316 / A4 Stainless Steel — For exterior, coastal, humid and corrosion-sensitive installations without universal service-life claims.
3Carbon Steel — OEM and industrial option with zinc, zinc flake, black oxide or qualified customer finish.
4Commercial Range — M3–M10 common positioning, M4/M5/M6/M8 main focus and approximately 6–80 mm length direction; availability depends on the complete configuration.

Frequently Asked Questions

What is a Pin Torx Security Screw?

It uses a six-lobe recessed drive with a center pin. The pin prevents a normal solid-tip driver from fully seating, so installation and removal require a compatible security bit with a center hole.

Are Pin Torx Screws completely tamper proof?

No. They are tamper resistant because they discourage removal using ordinary tools. Compatible security drivers allow authorized installation and maintenance.

What is the difference between a normal Torx Screw and Pin Torx Security Screw?

A normal six-lobe screw has an open recess. A Pin Torx Security Screw adds a center pin and therefore requires a matching driver with a center bore.

Can these Security Screws be supplied in 304 or 316 Stainless Steel?

Yes. VALTOR can supply 304/A2, 316/A4 and carbon-steel configurations according to corrosion environment, mechanical requirement and application.

Can VALTOR supply matching Security Bits?

Matching security bits can be supplied according to the selected recess size and order requirement. Confirm screw size, security-drive size and tooling needs in the RFQ.
