Hex Flange Head Concrete Screws

Stainless Steel & Carbon Steel Direct Concrete Screw Anchors

Hex Flange Head Concrete Screws are direct mechanical screw anchors for correctly sized pre-drilled holes in concrete or validated masonry. Their external hex drive supports socket or wrench installation, while the broad integral flange clamps brackets, rails, frames and industrial fixtures without a separate washer or expansion sleeve.

Product Overview

A Hex Flange Head Concrete Screw enters a prepared hole and uses specialized concrete-cutting and anchoring thread geometry to engage the base material directly. No nylon plug, plastic sleeve, metal expansion sleeve or chemical resin is part of this anchoring principle.

The external hex provides reliable socket and wrench access for construction installation. Its integral one-piece flange creates a broad bearing face for stable fixture seating; it is not a loose washer and should not be confused with an EPDM or bonded-washer roofing screw.

For purchasing, specify screw diameter and length, drill-hole diameter, fixture thickness, required embedment, stainless or carbon steel, stainless grade or coating, substrate, cracked or uncracked concrete requirement, required approval, quantity and drawing or sample.

Technical Specifications

Product / Alternative Names
Hex Flange Head Concrete Screws; Hex Head Concrete Screws; Concrete Screw Anchors
Anchoring Type
Direct mechanical screw anchorage in a correctly sized pre-drilled hole
Head / Drive / Flange
External hex with integral bearing flange; optional internal Torx only where the actual design includes it
Thread / Lead
Specialized concrete or masonry anchoring thread with product-specific cutting / engagement geometry; not a machine, wood or sheet-metal thread
Materials
410, engineered 304/A2 or 316/A4 Stainless Steel configurations; heat-treated Carbon Steel where specified
Carbon Steel Finishes
Blue-white zinc, zinc flake or customer-specified coating; performance confirmed by actual order data
Representative Market Range
6 / 8 / 10 / 12 mm anchor classes, 14 mm where applicable; approximately 40–200 mm depending on product design
Key Dimensions
Screw outside diameter ds, drill-hole diameter d0, L, pitch, external hex s, flange dk, head k, fixture tfix and validated embedment

Concrete Thread, Drill Hole & Embedment Selection

Direct Engagement
Hex flange head → fixture → concrete surface → pre-drilled hole → specialized thread engages the hole wall directly. No plug is used.
Concrete Thread
Deep coarse, asymmetric, cutting-tooth or hardened lead features depend on the engineered product; ordinary machine, sheet-metal and wood threads are not equivalent.
d0 vs ds
Drill-hole diameter d0 and screw outside diameter ds are independent variables and are not automatically equal. The validated relationship controls engagement and installation.
Hole Quality & Depth
Control drill diameter, roundness, bit condition and depth for required embedment, tip clearance and the applicable hole-preparation procedure.
Embedment
Embedment changes available thread engagement, concrete stress and installation behavior. Use product- or project-specific values; deeper is not automatically better.
Fixture Thickness
Correct screw length must account for fixture thickness tfix plus required embedment and system geometry.
Integral Flange
The one-piece flange provides a wider bearing face for brackets, plates, rails and profiles without claiming universal pull-through performance.
Base Material / Approval
Concrete is primary. Dense masonry requires validated data; hollow brick, AAC and lightweight block are not assumed. Cracked concrete and seismic use require exact verified approval.

Stainless Steel & Carbon Steel Options

1410 Stainless Steel — Hardenability can support suitable cutting-thread durability and wear resistance in engineered concrete-screw designs.
2304 / A2 Stainless Steel — Corrosion-resistant configurations require technically suitable cutting geometry and material condition.
3316 / A4 Stainless Steel — Exterior, coastal, humid and façade applications require an engineered cutting or hardened lead design.
4Carbon Steel — Heat-treated construction anchors may use blue-white zinc, zinc flake or specified coatings without unsupported corrosion claims.

Hex & Integral Flange
Thread & Lead Geometry
Material / Heat Treatment
Concrete Installation Test

Inspection may cover ds, L, thread profile, cutting features, hex size, head height, flange flatness, hardness and coating. Project testing records drill diameter, hole depth, fixture thickness, embedment, installation behavior and seating. MTC, dimensional, hardness, coating, installation, pull-out, shear or third-party reports are supplied only when actually performed or applicable; no universal loads or competitor approvals are published.

Frequently Asked Questions

Do Hex Flange Head Concrete Screws require a plastic expansion plug?

No. They engage a correctly sized pre-drilled hole directly, unlike a frame fixing screw that expands a separate nylon plug.

Do Concrete Screws require pre-drilling?

Yes. Drill-hole diameter, depth, preparation and embedment must match the exact concrete screw and substrate.

What is the difference between Stainless and Carbon Steel Concrete Screws?

Stainless is selected where corrosion resistance is important, while coated carbon steel is common for general construction and volume supply. Mechanical performance depends on the complete material, heat-treatment and thread design.

Can VALTOR supply 304, 316 and 410 Stainless Steel Concrete Screws?

Yes, according to product design. 410 can be hardened; 304/A2 and 316/A4 direct-concrete versions need technically appropriate cutting or hardened geometry rather than ordinary machine-screw construction.

What information is required when ordering Hex Flange Head Concrete Screws?

Specify screw and drill-hole diameter, length, fixture thickness, embedment, base material, stainless or carbon steel, finish, concrete condition, approval requirement and quantity.
