Hanger Bolts
Headless Fasteners with Machine Thread and Wood Screw Thread for Timber-to-Component Mounting
Hanger Bolts are headless double-ended fasteners with machine thread on one end and coarse wood screw thread on the other. The wood-thread end anchors into timber, while the exposed machine-thread end provides a connection point for nuts, brackets, mounting hardware or other threaded components.
Product Overview
Hanger Screws combine a fine machine-thread connection and a coarse wood-thread anchor in one straight, headless fastener. They are not Double End Studs, Dowel Screws or DIN 571 hex-head wood screws.
The pointed wood-thread end is installed into a suitable pilot hole in timber. The machine thread remains exposed for a bracket, fixture, nut or compatible female-threaded component, creating a removable wood-to-metal connection.
For quotation, specify machine-thread size and pitch, overall length, machine-thread and wood-thread lengths, direct midpoint transition, material, finish, application, quantity and drawing or sample.

Frequently Asked Questions
What is a Hanger Bolt?
A headless fastener with wood thread at one end and machine thread at the other.
What is the difference between a Hanger Bolt and a Double End Stud?
A Hanger Bolt combines wood and machine threads; a Double End Stud has machine threads at both ends.
How is a Hanger Bolt installed?
Use a suitable pilot hole and two locked jam nuts, or a specified dedicated drive feature.
Can Hanger Bolts be supplied in 304 or 316 Stainless Steel?
Yes. 304/A2 and 316/A4 are available according to application, along with carbon-steel options.
What dimensions are required for a custom Hanger Bolt?
Provide machine-thread size and pitch, overall length, both thread-zone lengths, wood-thread diameter, optional center, material, finish and quantity.
